So China Unicom wanted to capture users from the China Mobile by Apple iPhone, however, it is too late! More and more unauthorized iPhone from grey-market had been accepted by users because of the cheap price, even if the target customers whom can accept the price or like the iPhone very much want to buy it, they have purchased from all kinds of channels instead of this cooperation of Apple and China Unicom. Besides, many kinds of competitors of iPhone have been sold, such as Droid, Nokia 5800 and so on. They are much cheaper.
We still have hundreds of reasons to choose to use iPhone, such as the rapid CPU, the gravity induction system, the wonderful App Store, the cut Wi-Fi and so on, but iPhone has still a long and dark way to stagger in China.
If there is an application or software in the smart phone announcing that It can do everything, a smart phone will say that it can do anything which is impossible to phone. Now the faceoff of the smart phones is becoming hotter and hotter, what is your final choice?
It is seemed that the iPhone is an artwork only to be collected, but the camera which is only with 2MP is a little useless. Analysts all believe that the sales profit of AT&T must be increased because of the hot sale of iPhone and the popular of all kinds of service such as App Store. Especially in the beginning of the 3rd quarter, Apple Inc. put on sale the new version of iPhone( iPhone 3Gs ), and it is very popular now. Several days ago, Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs showed first in the public after a dangerous liver operation. He announced that the App Store had more than 85,000 Apps and the total downloads had broken through 2 billion times! But AT&T is not the lucky dog.
The stock of AT&T has failed to keep pace with the recovery of the broader market since March 2009. During those days, the S&P 500 has risen 39 percents, however, AT&T is up only 3 percent. Although is the external market reason, AT&T also has to face long-term adverse factors. At the very beginning of the cooperation with Apple, AT&T wanted to get much profit by the brand of Apple and the popular of iPhone. As the exclusive U.S. carrier of iPhone, AT&T provides the high subsidy to iPhone users and gets the bonus from the income of the download profit which is brought by the apps in the App Store. However, heavy data traffic generated by the 3G service is clogging AT&T’s wireless network, and forced it to update its infrastructure. Apple Inc. has never paid attention to the bad time of its cooperator. The iPhone has been sold to more and more countries and areas, many wireless carriers begin to negotiate with Apple, so Apple has never paid attention to the cooperation with AT&T.
At the same time, AT&T announces that it will purchase a famous telecommunication company in the fourth quarter. And this deal will expand AT&T‘s coverage, particularly in the western Europe. This news makes its stock rise 14 percents.
Next weekend China Unicom will sell the iPhone in China as the exclusive carriers. With the similar high subsidy and bonus mode, unlike AT&T, China Unicom has a strong opponent and many competitors. China Unicom should study the way of AT&T before the cooperation with Apple.

October 10 2009, there is an explosive news media exposure, that is, according to the research report which was from the famous research firm Yankee Group, AT&T have cooperated with Apple and provided services based on iPhone for a long time, however, it is not yet profitable now!

As China ushers in a new generation of snazzy smartphones and 3G networks, Google and Baidu are shifting their battle from the Internet to China's mobile search market, likely to become the world's largest, with the promise of billions of dollars in revenue.
According to government data, at the end of June this year China had 155 million mobile Internet users, and more than 40 million of them used mobile search.
"For the mobile search market, the number is still small but the growth potential is extremely high,"Badidu Chief Technology Officer Li Yinan told us in a recent interview."It is an important area."
China's mobile advertising industry was worth 754 million yuan(about $111 million) last year and is set to nearly double by 2010. Mobile search volume rose 120 percent in the second quarter alone to 272 million clicks, according to Analysys International.

So both Google and Baidu have been aggressively courting mobile users this year.Google, which pushed out new mobile services in China recently, launched an advertising campaign in Shanghai,Beijing and Guangzhou marketing its mobile services.
At the same time, Baidu, which holds 61 percent of the desktop search market, said in early September it planned to hire two software engineers to focus specifically on the mobile platform.
Both Baidu and Google already have mobile products and provide free services such as maps, games and news over cellphones. Analysts say Baidu still has the edge in China's mobile market given its brand, depth of local information and its dominant position in the desktop search market.
The rollout of 3G will lead to faster downloads and offer users more sophisticated functions such as global positioning search, mobile reading and music search.
"The market is still young, so it is hard to say, but with 3G a lot more people will use mobile search because the data speed allows them to get on the Internet," said Dick Wei, an analyst with JPMorgan.
If the market really takes off, Baidu and Google could also face the potential for competition from other companies such as Tencent Holdings, operator of China's largest instant messaging platform, which has been experimenting with its own search algorithms, said industry sources.
Tencent has a large "sticky" base of mobile messaging users that the firm could tap when mobile carriers roll out their application stores.
Mobile search providers could also find themselves facing competition from suppliers of other paidfor mobile services.
"It's going to take some time for them to figure out what is the right business model to generate revenue on the mobile platform. The easiest one though is instant messaging," said Elinor Leung, a CLSA analyst.
